Curious Office, the Seattle-based seed stage investment and technology development organization, announced that their latest hatchling Pressplane closed a $1.7 Million Series A financing today led by Second Avenue Partners. A long roster of other investors joined in this round as well:

  • Mika Salmi - MTV President / AtomFilms founder
  • Rich Barton - Founder, Expedia / Zillow
  • Erik Blachford - Former Expedia CEO
  • Andy Liu - BuddyTV
  • Alex Algard - Founder, Whitepages
  • Geoff Entress - Madrona
  • Andy Sack
  • Adrian Hanauer - MLS Soccer, Curious Office co-founder
  • John Cunningham
  • Dough Rowan - Former Corbis CEO

Full details on what Pressplane actually does are being aren't being shared but Curious did reveal that it is another “buy and sell marketplace” like their last success (Imagekind) - except this time around it is focused more on designers and creative content serving businesses. Imagekind was purchased by CafePress this past July. Curious.
