Developer of 500px iOS App Writes Book for Newbie Coders, Puts Source Code on GitHub

A developer who wrote the 500px iOS app is writing a new book about software development for beginners.

Ash Furrow is ditching his publisher though and taking to Indiegogo instead, seeking $5,000 to cover his expenses for four months of writing sample code and editing the 200-page book.

A $9 pledge nets backers a copy of the book, while $18 enables backers to receive access to a private GitHub repository to see updates to the sample code and markdown chapters as Furrow writes them.

And those who donate can rest easy knowing they'll get the book no matter how the campaign ends.

"If I don't reach my goal, I'm going to write as much as I can anyway," says Furrow.

So far the developer-turned-author has raised $3,500 with 28 days left in the campaign.
