DigiBC App of the Week: Pocket Pixels' Color Splash

Welcome to the BC App of the Week series presented by DigiBC. DigiBC's mission is to promote, support and accelerate the growth, sustainability and competitiveness of BC's digital media and wireless industry and they have partnered with Techvibes to highlight some of British Columbia's best apps.
This week's featured app is Color Splash by Vancouver's Pocket Pixels. The iPhone ($0.99) and iPad ($1.99) app lets you quickly and easily give photos a dramatic look by converting them to black and white while keeping your chosen details in color.
"This effect draws the viewers' attention to the colored areas, creating striking images," Pocket Pixels' website reads says. "Thanks to its intuitive and responsive user interface, ColorSplash is super easy and fun to use. You simply use your finger as a brush to remove or bring back the original color from regions of your image. Using a two finger pinching gesture you can quickly zoom in and out in order to work on fine details or larger areas."
Features include in-app video tutorials, social media sharing, landscape and portrait orientation modes, fullscreen toolbar-hiding options, and more. Color Splash, launched in 2010, has gotten rave reviews from numerous sources:
”ColorSplash is an app that allows you to make some very dramatic changes to your photos for its $1.99 price tag. The results are stunning. ColorSplash is easy, fun and provides amazing image results.” CNET Reviews
”This app is by far my favorite Photography app hands down. I give this app an A+.” iTune App Reviews
”Simple, fun to use, with the ability to produce reasonably impressive results, ColorSplash is a neat little image manipulation app.” Pocket Picks
