Welcome to our new BC App of the Week series presented by DigiBC. DigiBC's mission is to promote, support and accelerate the growth, sustainability and competitiveness of BC's digital media and wireless industry and they have partnered with Techvibes to highlight some of British Columbia's best Apps.

For our inaugural BC App of the Week we've choosen Loud Crow Interactive's children's book app A Charlie Brown Christmas for iOS and Android. The Vancouver-based shop have really outdone themselves with this touch-device remake of a holiday classic and are the iPhone App of the Week in the iTunes App Store this week as well.

  • "Makes the iPad feel like magic." - Mashable
  • "A beautifully designed app, and one that will tug at the heartstrings of anone with fond memories of the animated specials." - Wired
  • "Oozes with the delightful charm and magic... a wonderful addition to anyone's iPad, no matter what the age group" - PadGadget

Loud Crow Interactive's take on Charles M. Schulz’s classic story captures the nostalgia of the 1965 television special while adding a modern twist. The app is beautiful and designed down to the last detail to mimic the interaction of a real pop-up book, while also adding true digital features.

Users can play Schroeder's piano, finger paint with the gang, go carolling with the Peanuts choir, and participate in the Spectacular Super-Colossal Neighborhood Christmas Lights and Display contest to unlock decorations for their very own unique Christmas tree.

This is the sort of app where seeing really is believing. Video after the jump.

Founded by industry leaders in interactive entertainment and new media, Loud Crow's leadership team has a proven track record of delivering world class digital experiences including last year’s Peter Rabbit iPad app.

If you're interested in having your app highlighted as part of DigiBC's App of the Week series, please send us a note.
