DocTrain West 2008 - 2The West Coast edition of the DocTrain conference comes to Vancouver, May 6-9, 2008. Billed as a conference for "technical communicators", DocTrain should of interest to anyone who does technical writing, training, or usability work. The mix of sessions and workshops will draw on the theme of "Web 2.0 and Its Impact on Communication". Professor and author Bob Glushko is lined up as a keynote speaker, covering the topic of his recent book Document Engineering.

Speaking proposals are being accepted until December 20, 2007. Registration opens January 5, 2008.

With worries of increased border security, passport difficulties, and dollar parity making Canada a more difficult choice for conference organizers, it's encouraging to see North American events still being hosted north of the border.
