Don't miss the chance to brush up on your intellectual property know-how
The mobile world is a bit like the wild west these days. Everyone’s moving in to fill the profitable niches, small timers are looking to make fame and fortune and, sadly, the law is sometimes nowhere to be found. With mobile developers springing up all the time and so much derivative content being produced, is your intellectual property (IP) safe?
That will be the subject of a seminar being held Thursday by Wavefront, in the hopes that mobile startups, notoriously strapped for cash, can avoid some hefty legal fees by getting some basics about IP laws. The seminar, “Wireless IP and Legal Issues,” will feature lawyers from Fasken Martineau as they not only present information, but listen to attendees potential and real legal troubles.
IP won’t be the only thing covered; other legal problems that mobile developers might face, including privacy, personal information and data protection (sounds like Facebook’s board of directors might benefit from this seminar). It will be interactive, informative and hopefully helpful.
Wireless IP and Legal Issues will take place on Thursday, March 17th from 8:30–11:00am. A continental breakfast will be provided. For more info or to register, click here.
