The first ever East Coast Startup Week will be held in Fredericton, New Brunswick, from March 20 to 24.

The five day event will bring together hundreds of entrepreneurs, investors, and mentors for a week of pitching, networking, and learning.

“East Coast Startup Week gives our region the critical mass needed to support our growing community of entrepreneurs and attract investors and mentors from both inside the region and around the world,” says Jeff Thompson, CEO of UserEvents and one of the organizers of ECSW. “Startup week is a catalyst. When you bring entrepreneurs with good ideas together with mentors and investors, good things are going to happen.”

The first day will include a speaker series, featuring Dan Martell and Ben Yoskovitz. Dan Martell is an angel investor and founder of many startups, including Clarity, Flowtown, and Spheric Technologies. Ben Yoskovitz is currently the VP Product at Halifax’s GoInstant, recently acquired by Salesforce.

ECSW will also include the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation’s Breakthru Business Plan Awards dinner and gala; a mentor session allowing entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas and get feedback; the PropelICT Launch 36 Demo day, where entrepreneurs pitch to a large audience of investors; and the TME Lunch and Learn Session, with Dan Martell.
