Edmonton's Empire Avenue officially launches its Avenue Rewards platform for businesses

Edmonton-based startup Empire Avenue, which turns individuals into stocks and rates online influence, has officially launched its Avenue Rewards platform.

Avenue Rewards is a facet of the company where businesses can offer deals to Empire players for free. It doesn't profit Empire—it's simply an "avenue" for businesses to extend online deals to customers. The rewards program allows users to spend virtual currency, Eaves, on real-life deals.

So far, Empire has wrangled in an Edmonton steakhouse and a hotel. Eventually, rewards will cover more regions and more diversity in types of offerings.

Businesses can offer products and discounts to existing and potential customers for free through Empire's rewards platform.

Rewards can be offered on different criteria including Loyalty (deals to people who have been long-term shareholders), Influence (deals to people whoc cross certain share price thresholds), and/or Virtual Wealth (deals to people who have amassed virtual currency). 

Businesses can also customize their own unique page with the Empire Avenue interface.
