Greybox, an Edmonton-based startup, is about to launch nationwide. Following 3 months of closed beta, the "unique hybrid of blogging and social networking" plans to open up to the public nationwide after "very positive" feed back from early testers.

The startup is all about writing, sharing, and discovering great articles. Free from ads, Greybox's simple user interface displays articles in a distraction-free environment. Users can browse and read articles from the main stream and interact with others via a dialogue feature or comment system. Users can also follow other users and customize their profiles to express themselves, including a custom unique URL.

Co-founded by Elvis Wong, Greybox emphases simple beauty. Articles are displayed by category in a clean feed, and individual pieces of content pop up in plain windows designed for consumption—no ads or busy colours. And there's always a link to the original source should one wish to venture out of the grey box.

Greybox (www.greybox.co) is a refreshing and unique content sharing platform that is changing the way people write and share articles. It mixes beauty with simplicity and focuses on the user experience. more
