Edmonton’s OctopusApp Simplifies On-site Tasks

by Sarah Blue | Startups

We're not really sure where the name came from, but Edmonton's Octopus is a web application designed specifically for on-site service companies. On their website, they list companies that do their work in the field, such as painting and landscaping.

The software provides standard customer relationship management functionality plus features uniquely suited to the needs of on-site service businesses. Using Octopus, you can create and track quotes, jobs and invoices that are linearly connected. This keeps everything more organized and ensures that you never lose track of what's going on with your work.

For your employees, a time sheet management system makes it easy for your employees to track their time in a single location so it's convenient for you to approve hours and track what's been paid out. When you’re ready to plan out your day, a location aware mapping system show you where your jobs are for a day and a property details system allows you to set up custom fields to track any type of information about your customers' properties.

Octopus helps your records management by letting you record and assign tasks in multiple contexts throughout the system, and manage them centrally. Built-in intelligence ensures that you don't forget about important events such as job assignments, quote and job follow ups and past due invoice collection by automatically generating and managing tasks.

If you’re a small business, you can look at paying about $9/month for Octopus, with larger plans set at $49/month and $79/month. If you would like to sign up, use the discount code "TECHVIBES" and you’ll receive 15% off the first 3 months once your free trial expires.
