The Edmonton-based company officially announced a partnership with the American media giant Discovery Communcations, introducing a interactive online destination for kids called Seek Your Own Proof.
The interactive website falls directly into the rapidly growing category of learning based games. Seek Your Own Proof challenges kids to investigate history and science as secret agents of the Central Institute of Exploration (CIE). The missions are story based and guide user through a series of mysteries, interactive puzzles and games.
Momentum has been building for Rocketfuel , having recently won the TEC Edmonton Venture Prize in 2009, Best of Show winner at the Fusion Digital Media Venture Forum in Vancouver, and Most Promising Company at the Canadian New Media Awards.
Edmmonton venture capital firm Foundation Equity II LP, provided $1M in venture capital for Seek Your Own Proof.
Entrepreneurs Ken Bautista and Jason Suriano are excited about the the partnership. Bautista noted in the Edmonton Journal, "It gives us access to the Discovery family of content and distribution, and the development of more unique content and personalities for Seek Your Own Proof."
