Extreme University is back in class for Summer 2011

Toronto's Extreme Venture Partners is presenting another round of Extreme University this summer.

ExtremeU is a summer technology start-up accelerator that focuses on industry networking, technology mentoring and, above all, delivering a product to potential follow-on funders after only 12 weeks. At ExtremeU, companies get a chance to bring great ideas to life, and draw upon the technology and business expertise of the Extreme Venture Partners team.

The program starts Monday, June 6th and will run for 12 straight weeks at the ExtremeU offices in Toronto at Yonge and King street.

Extreme University will be led again by Farhan Thawar, Dean of ExtremeU. Farhan has over 13 years experience in the technology sector. He is currently the VP of Engineering at Xtreme Labs. Named one of Toronto’s Top 25 Most Powerful People In 2010, Farhan is a well-known and respected figure in the city’s tech community.

If you get accepted into ExtremeU 2011, here's what you get:

Seed Funding: Focus spending on what is critical, and get enough capital to get your startup up and running. $18,000 for 6% equity stake in your company.

Mentorship: Weekly personal mentorship sessions with world-class entrepreneurs that have real life experience in every aspect of the startup lifecycle: technology, funding, legal, public relations, marketing and human resources.

Collaborative office space and shared resources: The team must relocate, for the duration of the program, to the offices of Extreme Venture Partners, in downtown Toronto. EVP has 3 floors of office space that is shared with some of the brightest startups in Canada. The unique office environment allows for daily collaboration with other founders and developers.

Shared expertise in web and mobile development: Work closely with Xtreme Labs, one of the world’s leading mobile specialists across all major platforms. Demo your product each week with Xtreme Labs to get critical feedback and advice for problems ranging from technology to product development. Xtremelabs has created world-class mobile apps for some of the biggest names in the business, such as NBA, Groupon, and Urban Spoon.

Network and Connections: At the end of the 12 weeks program, Extreme University holds a Showcase Day event, where introductions are made to potential partners, customers and investors. Each company will pitch to a crowd of diverse industry leaders, Angel investors and Venture Capitalists.

If you're part of a smart and fast-moving team and willing to spend the summer in Toronto, get your application in before May 1st.
