Facebook CSV app might help FB developers innovate

Posted by Warren Frey on Tue, October 23, 2007 3:15 PM · Filed under , Facebook · No Comments

A new Facebook app, FriendCSV, pulls your friend list out of Facebook's closed environment and deposits the data into a comma separated value file, which can then be loaded in Excel or other similar spreadsheet applications. While this may seem to be a somewhat esoteric app and not anywhere near as exciting as Funwalls, Superpokes and Zombie Fights, it could be a real boon to developers looking to make use of the rich trove of data just under the surface of connected Facebook profiles. And for more discussion and demos of up and coming Facebook apps, Vancouverites should check out the Facebook Developer Garage at the Vancouver Film School campus tonight. It starts at 5:30 p.m. and seating is limited, so get there early. Techvibes is the media sponsor for the event.
