Facebook Developers Garage - Activestate demos Up4
Activestate demoed Up4, a Facebook app which allows users to state what they and their Facebook friends are “up for” over a given period of time, at the recent Facebook Developer’s Garage held at Vancouver Film School. Using a calendar interface, a user can check out his social schedule and that of his friends at a glance, and can then join into events at will, as well as creating their own events that are broadcast to their friends list. The developer stressed that users aren’t joining events, but rather saying they are “up for” doing something, without bogging people down in specific dates and times. Up4’s “anti-calendar” philosophy, along with a slick looking user interface, makes this an app to watch as it moves out of alpha.
