Facebook Officially Launches App Center in Canada

As of today, Facebook's App Center is available to people in Canada. The social network's hub for discovering apps originally launched in the US in early June.

Facebook says that, when the App Center first launched, there were more than 600 social apps, including Nike+ Running, Ubisoft Ghost Recon Commander, and Draw Something. The company further says that each person has a personalized experience in the App Center, with recommendations based on the apps they and their friends use, whether that be games, fashion, or food, etc. apps.

The social network also affirms that users only see "high quality apps" in the App Center, weeding out the crap through ratings and engagement. And while most assume its only available on Facebook's website, it's actually also available via Facebook's mobile apps on iOS and Android.

Games remain by far the most popular app category on Facebook. According to the company, more than 230 million people play games on its site every month and more than 130 games on Facebook have over one million monthly active users.
