First PayFirma, now NetSecure. Another mobile payment solution, Kudos, launches in Canada

Just this week we wrote about Vancouver's Payfirma launching what is essentially Square for Canadians.

NetSecure Technologies has promptly launched its own iteration called Kudos.

While Payfirma has its grip on the iOS platform, working for iPhones, iPods, and iPads, NetSecure has taken a slightly different route, including compatibility with RIM's BlackBerry OS as well as PC desktops and laptops (but not tablets or iPods).

Both companies appear to have similar pricing models and offer roughly the same type of service, so what will be the key differentiator here is whose product will, in the words of Apple CEO Steve Jobs, "just work." The superior customer and merchant experience will be the standout factor.

And with this mobile payment space clearly heating up, we should find out soon enough.
