Rajan Sodhi of BIG Marketing for Small Business point to a humorous clipfrom NBC's Today Show featuring Markus Frind, founder of the popular free dating site Plentyoffish.com. The Vancouver-based dating site is now the #1 online dating site in both Canada and the UK and recently hit #3 in the United States, closing in on Match.com.
Markus is a one-man operation working out of his condo and charges nothing for users to sign up and use the service. Instead, he collects $1 million cheques from Google for their Adsense program - nice business model. You can follow Markus' progress and his insightful commentary on the online dating space on his blog.
