Flixel - It's like Instagram for Living Photos

Posted by Rob Lewis

If you like Instagram, you're going to love Flixel. What Instagram is for static photos+filters, Flixel is for living photos.

Capture a moment, bring it to life with the swipe of a finger and instantly share with friends. Inspired by Cinemagraphs, Flixel lets you create beautiful living photos in seconds. Flixel lets you live-paint your animation, apply custom designed filters, and loop your animations forward or backwards.

New Brunswick startup Flixel Photos Inc. launched the Flixel living photo app in the Apple App Store today and it is already a top Photo & Video app. Like Instagram, you can share your Flixels with friends via email, Facebook or Twitter, as well as follow your favourite Flixographers within the app.

Flixel was co-founded by Philippe LeBlanc and Mark Homza. The Flixel app was built in collaboration with Toronto mobile development house endloop mobile and apparently an Android version is up next.

Check out their demo video below and download the free Flixel app in the App Store.
