Foodler Expands Restaurant Delivery Options to Canada

This week online food ordering service Foodler announced that it has expanded into Canada.

Now, residents of Vancouver can order from more than 135 local restaurants for takeout or delivery via the Foodler site or iPhone app. And according to a company spokesperson, Toronto isn’t far behind.

With Foodler, users can explore menus, including user ratings of specific dishes, and place orders for delivery or takeout. The company’s “Best Bets” feature highlights top user-rated restaurants and, for regular users of the service, learns preferences and makes recommendations for restaurants they might like.

“We are eager to offer the widest selection of restaurant partners for online delivery to Vancouver residents,” said Foodler co-founder Christian Dumontet. “We’re excited to bring dishes from a large and diverse group of restaurants to people’s homes across Canada as we add more cities throughout the year.”

Foodler is entering a crowded market that includes 12 year-old Just-Eat.

As Canada’s largest and only nationwide food ordering service, Just-Eat.ca delivers food from over 3,500 restaurants in 160 cities across the country and has brought over two million orders to Canada’s doorsteps since it entered the Canadian market in 2009.
