Mike Beltzner, who was previously Director of Firefox at Mozilla, has decided to jump aboard Toronto startup Wattpad. Mike will assume the role of Head of Product with the company, which won Best Overall Startup of 2011 at last year's Canadian Startup Awards.

"A little more than I year ago I took a big jump, leaving my role as Director of Firefox at Mozilla," Mike wrote in a recent blog post. "I’m really excited about Monday, when I’ll be starting as Head of Product with Toronto-based Wattpad." Monday, of course, is today.

"We’re always on the lookout for great people who want to help us shape the future of how readers and writers interact and share stories," Wattpad said in a welcoming blog post. "We’re moving fast and today we’re happy to introduce you to our new Head of Product, Mike Beltzner."

"My new friend and CEO Allen Lau has impressed me with his vision for Wattpad, and the team he and co-founder Ivan Yuen have put together is fantastic," added Mike on his blog. "Once again I’m finding myself in a mission and community oriented company as we develop a killer product that will reshape the way people interact with each other. There is a lot of work to do, and an incredibly broad range of interesting ideas and product opportunities to look into, and I am just so eager to get started."
