FounderFuel's Ian Jeffrey Departs as Accelerator Reveals Six Startups for Latest Cohort

Posted by Techvibes NewsDesk

Montreal-based accelerator FounderFuel today announced the six companies of its Spring 2104 Cohort.

Hosting his fifth FounderFuel Demo Day, Ian Jeffrey—who launched FounderFuel in 2011 for Real Ventures—also announced the Spring 2014 Demo Day will be his last as General Manager of FounderFuel.

The companies of the FounderFuel Spring 2014 Cohort are:

  • DoBundle makes images shoppable to unlock commerce across the visual web.
  • Kiwi Wearables' movement recognition engine powers motion control for mobile apps and wearable devices.
  • TattooHero is the cloud software that powers tattoo shops around the world.
  • Truth is an anonymous messaging app that lets people speak the truth with friends.
  • Vain Pursuits puts the care back into skincare with data-driven personalized formulas.
  • VanHawks is fundamentally changing the cycling experience with the world’s first connected carbon fiber bike: safer, smarter and sexier.

“The FounderFuel Demo Day is celebration of the Spring 2014 accomplishments,” said Ian Jeffrey, General Manager of FounderFuel, “but more importantly it is a huge celebration for the entire startup ecosystem, and the scale of our event is proof that our community is alive and strong.”

Since the launch of FounderFuel, Ian has led five Cohorts with 45 investments, and organized over 30 community events across the Canada. The program has created 200 jobs and FounderFuel alumni have raised over $20,000,000. He penned a farewell letter here.

FounderFuel is also accepting applications for its next cohort.
