Freshly funded Gener8 adds visual effects veteran to Board
Last month Techvibes reported that Vancouver's Gener8 Digital Media Corp. had raised a $1.5 Million financing round with investors Macquarie Private Wealth, Haywood Securities, Raymond James, and Leede Financial Markets.
Today they welcomed visual effects veteran and producer Art Repola to its advisory board.
Most recently Repola was the Executive Vice President of Visual Effects & Production at Walt Disney Studios, where he oversaw all aspects of visual effects production for the studio's motion pictures division.
During his decades of film industry experience, Repola has managed the visual effects on nearly 200 live-action films for companies including Walt Disney Studios, Amblin Entertainment, and Industrial Light and Magic.
Repola's insight and expertise will help shape the company's direction and further evolve their groundbreaking G83D technology, which provides filmmakers with an entirely unique method for creating movies in stereoscopic 3D.
Gener8 was founded in January 2011 by former Electronic Arts Canada and Radical Entertainment executives.
