Founded in 1996, Rocket Gaming Systems designs, develops, services, and supports electronic gaming solutions for casinos. Rocket's products let players in casinos compete in real-time against one another for multi-level, wide-area progressive jackpots. As you can imagine, the complexities involved with delivering such technology are extreme! The Game Designer position (JP-2008-RGS-BC-0100) will be primarily responsible for the designing of the math for Rocket games. You will work closely with a developer on the team to provide the math for game demonstration versions and the main game. Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for taking a game title from beginning to end and providing the math and design required with the assistance of a dedicated developer on the project. This will range from generation of reels and paytables, to designing the reels, bonus features, the reduction of the game from Class III to Class II, and documenting and packaging the deliverables.
- You will be involved in the decision making process and design of bonus features.
- You will create basic math examples for DirectorDemos and will work with spreadsheets and similar for ad-hoc requirements of the project or the team.
- You will use the tools provided by the team to generate outputs from our designs and will demonstrate understanding of the team processes in order to make suggestions and assist in improving processes.
Requirements: It is essential that you are extremely detail oriented and a keen problem solver with the ability to “think outside the box” and are comfortable solving math problems. You have experience in working in a professional team environment. Please note that if you possess development experience you will be encouraged to utilize this knowledge for prototyping in the design phase. However development experience is not essential for the right candidate to be successful. To compliment your skills you possess a post-secondary education in Computing Science, Mathematics or Philosophy or the equivalent experience. You have a minimum of 2 - 5 years' experience working in a professional environment. If you are up to the challenge, please combine your resume and cover letter in one document (Word or PDF) and email it to Catherine Gordon.
