In a post titled Children's Virtual Worlds take off last January, I quoted some impressive traffic stats for Toronto-based Webkinz - an offshoot of stuffed animal leader Ganz. In November of 2007, six million unique visitors logged on to the Webkinz website, up 342% from the previous year according to ComScore Media Metrix.

Looks like kid's virtual world business continues to prosper. Starting mid-October, Webkinz will be launched in mulitple languages including French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Portugese. Ganz Interactive posted 15 new job opportunities on the Techvibes Job Board yesterday. So if you live in Toronto (or want to) and are qualified as a Database Administrator, Flash Developer, Flash Animator, PHP Developer, Web Developer, Java Developer, Technical Architect, QA Tester, Chat Room Manager, Systems Administrator, or Project Manager, be sure to check out the listings.

Update: Just heard back from my comScore contact - updated numbers are 10.5 Million unique visitors per month in the United States alone. Based on Alexa.com's estimation that 90% of Webkinz traffic is US based, that works out to around 12 Million uniques per month. Double the traffic from 10 months ago.
