Gary Will shuts down Waterloo Tech Digest

Posted by Rob Lewis

After being at it for 14 years, Waterloo's Gary Will sent out the final issue of his Waterloo Tech Digest today.

The Waterloo Tech Digest is no more. Although I can conceive of scenarios where it could return in some form, I'm not expecting it to happen any time soon, if ever. Thank you to everyone who's been reading for any portion of these 14 years -- we had 5,000 subscribers at the end ... a bit more than the five we started with for the first issue. A special tip of the hat to Mike Strathdee -- subscriber #4 -- who I'm pretty sure was the only person to get all 162 issues. The list of people who were subscribers for over 100 issues would be very long.

Gary's monthly newsletter dates back to March of 1997 and was preceded by a web page that he started in September of 1996. The personal project started as something he did to learn about the Waterloo tech scene after moving from Toronto.

Gary is now working full-time with TechAlliance in London in and you can still follow him on Twitter (@garywill) or hook up with him on LinkedIn.

Good luck with your future endeavors Gary!
