The Waterloo Region Technology Association's campaign to urge Markham's best and brightest tech talent to "get a life" west of Toronto comes to a head this week. Waterloo has been on the hunt for top talent using print and radio advertising as well as billboards on tech commuter routes for the past couple months.
The agressive campaign wraps up this week with an event in enemy territory (Markham that is) to show off the thousands of opportunities available in the Waterloo Region. This Wednesday, June 25th at the Delta Markham from 5-8pm a couple dozen companies will be recruiting onsite followed by a keynote presentation by Ian Harrower, a Google Waterloo software engineer.
Recruiting companies include Agfa Health Care, Christie Digital Systems, DALSA, Google Waterloo, Intelligent Mechatronic Systems, Open Text, Primal Fusion, Research In Motion, Sandvine, and Tech Capital Partners, which represents early-stage portfolio firms AideRSS, Avaning, Covarity, LiveHive Systems, Overlay.tv, Sidense Corp, Sirific Wireless, and Software Innovation.
