Vancouver's web development community is gearing up for Web Directions North 2008, a blockbuster conference featuring the best of the best coming together to discuss new techniques, issues and challenges for designers, product managers, developers and anyone else who makes a living building the web.

Notable speakers include web design guru Jeffrey Zeldman, who will give the opening keynote presentation. Other web stars include Six Apart's Anil Dash, Daniel Burka, Digg's creative director, and many others. Local speakers include Bryght's Boris Mann and noted designer Dave Shea.

The conference takes place from January 28th to February 2nd, with workshops at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Vancouver for the first two days, and speaker presentations all day on January 30th. WDN closes out with two days of skiing, snowboarding and networking at Whistler, just an hour and a half north of Vancouver. Techvibes is a media sponsor for the event, and we'll be live blogging throughout the conference, so keep checking the site for more information.
