Google Transit beta ups the ante for local transit apps

Vancouver's MyBus service just gained a huge competitor in the form of Google Transit, currently in beta. The search giant has taken the simplicity of finding directions in Google Maps and applied it to riding the bus, and it's accessible from Translink's home page. MyBus does, however, keep track of your transit schedules directly on your Facebook page, something Google is unlikely to do anytime soon.
