GROW returns to Vancouver and invites you to Launch@GROW

Posted by Rob Lewis

Last year's inaugural GROW Conference in Vancouver was a huge success and it's returning to the West Coast again this August 17-19th at the new Vancouver Conference Center.

GROW is a unique three-day conference that brings together the top minds in business, entrepreneurship, technology and startup investment to inspire and engage the next generation of disruptive entrepreneurs.

DAY 1: ENGAGE: This invite-only program brings together promising Canadian entrepreneurs with leading Silicon Valley founders, influencers and investors to meet, discuss, debate, and glean information to understand how to innovate in a web-fueled world.

DAY 2: INSPIRE: GROW 2011 Conference will provide inspiration for turning today's entrepreneurs into tomorrow's leaders. Speakers include founders of fast-growing companies, leading investors and influencers who will share lessons learned.

DAY 3: CHALLENGE: This is an open day for attendees to experience the best of outdoor adventure in Vancouver. Local insiders will take you kite-boarding, hiking, cycling/mountain bike riding and kayaking.

This year GROW is getting the community even more involved with the Launch@GROW contest. GROW has partnered with Vancouver's Bootup Entrepreneurial Society to host a startup video competition with the winners pitching their startups to Silicon Valley VCs. Startups will produce two-minute videos presenting their startup and then voting will begin. Winning startups will get the chance to be showcased at the Launch Party opening night reception and possibly even on stage on Day 2 at the main conference.

This morning GROW announced the first round of speakers and it includes Silicon Valley elite, Canadian success stories, and world-class innovators who are turning industries on their heads and engaging consumers in new ways - both online and offline. Confirmed speakers to date include:

  • Garrett Camp, CEO, StumbleUpon
  • Rob Hayes, Managing Partner, First Round Capital
  • Wesley Chan, Investment Partner, Google Ventures
  • Howard Lindzon, Founder, Stocktwits
  • Matt Galligan, Founder, SimpleGeo
  • Jeff Lawson, CEO, Twilio
  • Lars Leckie, Partner, Hummer Winblad
  • Mike Parker, President, Tribal DDB
  • Brian Wong, Founder, Kiip
  • Dan Martell, Co-Founder, Flowtown

Registration is now open online. If you're interested in participating in Day One, be sure to apply as soon as possible.
