Halifax-Based But Localised, This Review Site is Genious

Halifax-based GenieKnows, a search engine where you can find information, restaurant reviews, and maps of over 20 million local businesses across Canada and the United States today announced the latest release of its local search engine, GenieKnows 2.0. This newest release gives users the ability to sign up and add their own personal reviews across Canada and the US.

The site is super-sleek.  There are 18 categories in each city and it uses a geomapping functionality (maps, zones, hybrid and pins).  Once you click on a service to review or check-out, for example Rasputin Restaurant on Broadway, you can then add a photo, add a review, edit the business and share the page with friends.  But the fun does not stop there!

You can embed the map of the restaurant in your blog and also view related articles about the place, details about the restaurant, read reviews, add photos and visit any related web pages about the site.  Dubbing itself as the largest open content restaurant guide on the net, you too can help build the restaurant review section of Genieknows.  But it caters to all businesses, as I said 18 categories, from auto repair to dentists, Genieknows has it all mapped out.
