If you've visited Google today you will have noticed the birthday cake logo on the Google homepage.  If you have yet to visit Google's homepage, sorry to spoil the surprise!

12 years ago Larry Page and Sergey Brin created the now ubiquitous search engine while still in University at Stanford in California. 

Today, according to SearchEngineLand.com, the Google search engine completes 34,000 searches per second which is 2 million per minute; 121 million per hour; 3 billion per day; 88 billion per month.

Wow.  Happy Birthday indeed!
