Health Canada is ignoring science that suggests Canadians are getting ill from cellphones and other wireless technology such as wifi, according to a safety advocacy group.
Citizens for Safe Technology claims that it has obtained documents which show the government is controlling an independent review of radiation from mobile devices, wifi, and cell towers. Symptoms cited include headaches and insomnia.
The group is headed by Frank Clegg, who worked at Microsoft for 15 years and was president of Microsoft Canada from 2000 to 2005. Clegg is infamously opposed to wireless internet in schools, stating earlier this year (without any proof) that "there are children who can't go to school because of headaches, nausea and heart problems from the wireless systems."
Health Canada continues to stand firmly behind its position that scientific consensus points toward radiation from wireless technologies being too low to cause adverse health effects in humans.
