HealthPricer brings the Priceline model to health products

Posted by Warren Frey on Mon, January 28, 2008 3:43 PM · Filed under Vancouver , Events , Start-up · No Comments

Canadian websites and brick and mortar stores that allowed American consumers to order prescription drugs online ran into a great deal of controversy in the recent past. But despite the ongoing questions about cross-border drug purchases, sites north of the border are still doing business, and Vancouver-based Healthpricer.com has taken the space a step further by offering a price comparison engine. The site gets commissions from featured merchants, though service is free for users. Healthpricer doesn't restrict itself just to prescription drugs; any health product is searchable. The startup is also one of the Canadian companies featured at Demo 08, one of the premier venues for new technology launches.
