Hired Doubles Revenue and Headcount in 2014, Hints at Canadian Office

Hired is having an incredible year so far.

The two-sided career marketplace told Techvibes it has doubled revenue since March, when it raised a $15 million Series A round. It's also doubled headcount, from 20 to 40, this year.

The company, which was founded in 2012 to disrupt the recruiting industry, is based in San Francisco. But its cofounder and CEO, Matt Mickiewicz, is a Vancouver resident whose family moved from Poland to Canada when the entrepreneur was a teenager. You may recognize the name, as Mickiewicz is also the cofounder of 99designs and was named to Forbes' "30 Under 30" list.

While Hired currently operates solely out of US offices, Mickiewicz says Hired plans to eventually open an office in Canada. The company, which was named one of the "10 Hottest Startups of 2013" by Forbes, just opened its second office, located in New York, in April.

“Hired is putting the power back in the hands of workers by making intention and transparency on the part of companies a top priority,” said Mickiewicz. “Our goal is to make the outdated practice of recruiters inundating talent with ill-defined job opportunities a thing of the past.”
