HoHoTO a success

Last week, the wonderful folks behind HoHoTO and Toronto’s social media and tech community got together to raise funds for the Toronto’s Daily Bread Food Bank

Attempting to raise $40,000, the event on December 16th did much more than that.  According to their website, “On the night, we presented a cheque for $48,424.50 to the Daily Bread Food Bank and collected 1,000 lbs of food at the door.  With top up donations since then, we’re tantalisingly close to a full $50,000 raised in one night.”

Since their humble beginnings in 2008, HoHoTO has raised more than $80,000 for this worthy cause.

HoHoTO is a charity holiday party built by and for the Toronto tech, marketing, creative, web design and social media community. A handful of concerned and engaged geeks got together in 2008 to throw a fundraiser for the Daily Bread Food Bank. In two weeks they managed to attract more than 600 people for a night of drinking and dancing – raising $25,000.

The Toronto scene is proud to have people like the HoHoTO gang and many others.  Not only do you shine the light on the people and the city, but you focus attention on those who need it most; especially during the Holiday Season.  Thank you for doing all Torontonians proud.
