CLOSED: The 2012 Techvibes Holiday Giveaway: Day Five

Posted by Knowlton Thomas

The holidays are about giving. And we are honouring this tradition in grand fashion.

Welcome to the 2012 Techvibes Holiday Giveaway, powered by Best Buy. Our third-annual holiday giveaway, which will see us give away a total of seven prizes, is our most flexible yet: instead of awarding specific products as prizes, winners will receive Best Buy gift cards to buy absolutely anything they want. And for the less creative among us, we'll be inspiring potential winners with ideas through our Best Buy Holiday Gift Guide, which will suggest products within the price range of each gift card we hand out.

DAY FIVE IS WORTH...

Behind door number five is a $1,000 gift card from Best Buy. Wait, seriously? Alright, that's just ridiculous!

WHAT YOU SHOULD SPEND IT ON

Gosh, the options are pretty limitless. It's like winning a mini lottery. But we'd probably spend the majority of it on this amazing Sony Bravia 40-inch Smart Television.

Currently on sale for $749, this elegantly slim LED TV boasts Full HD 1080p for incredible detail and Edge LED backlighting for boosted contrast. It also puts Internet connectivity right at your fingertips with wifi and a wired Ethernet port so you can watch YouTube clips, access online HD movies, music and more through the Sony Entertainment Network.

HOW TO WIN IT

So, you want this gift card, eh? Well, guess what pal—so does everybody else.

For your shot at victory, you've got to enter our giveaway. Fortunately, we've made entering super simple this year. Just follow this one easy step:

1. Comment on this article, telling us who and what you'd spend your winnings on. An iPad Mini for yourself? An HD television for a friend? A home theatre system for your technology-loving dog, Berkley? (Okay, we know that one's secretly for you too.)

Totally simple, right? Oh, and we'd love it if you also followed Techvibes and Best Buy on Twitter, but it's not a requirement for the giveaway. (Though we know a few well-connected elves in the North Pole, so it may bump you up on Santa's Nice list.)

THE FINE PRINT

No purchase required.  Contest closes December 9, 2012 at midnight Pacific Standard Time. There are a total of 7 prizes available to be won (one prize per giveaway article). Open to Canadian residents excluding residents of Quebec. Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries received before contest closes. Limit one entry per giveaway per person (up to seven entries in total). Maximum of one prize awarded per person.

Come back tomorrow for another great prize to be won.
