Hostopia goes Deluxe

Less than two years after going public, Toronto-based Hostopia announced yesterday that they have entered into an agreement to be acquired by Deluxe Corporation for $124M. Hostopia sells white-labelled wholesale web hosting services to telecommunications companies, Internet service providers, domain registrars and web hosting companies who in turn sell them to small and medium sized business customers. Never heard of them? You may be surprised to find out that they're currently hosting your website - Bell Canada, TELUS, Webnames.ca, or Radiant Communications (among others) are currently Hostopia resellers. In 2002 Hostopia secured $5 Million in funding from TELUS Ventures to tackle the US Telco market.
