How can health care professionals better share information?

The Conference Board of Canada has been pretty critical of Canada as a nation of innovators. They reviewed 17 nations, and Canada placed 14th; the Board gave Canada a “D” grade for technical innovation.

With this in mind, Agfa HealthCare has started a new program, called the “Innovation Challenge.” They want Canada’s post-secondary IT, health sciences and technology students to answer the question, “How can IT enable the exchange of medical records and information among patients and healthcare providers in Canada?”

Until November 5th, Agfa will be taking applications from post-secondary students across Canada with their solutions to the problems of sharing medical information. Five finalists will be selected, and they will receive a $3,000 scholarship and a summer employment opportunity with Agfa HealthCare.

If you are a post-secondary student studying IT, health sciences or technology, check out agfachallenge.ca for information on registering for the Innovation Challenge.

And from all of us at Techvibes — good luck!
