How many units of Research in Motion's upcoming BlackBerry PlayBook will sell in 2011?

Tony Harvey and his team of oddsmakers at Bookmaker.com won't pinpoint a number—anywhere from two to seven million, their range stretches—but they do offer up some odds.

According to these guys, the PlayBook has a 21.4 percent chance of selling 1.9 million units or more, and a 45.5 percent chance of selling 6.9 million or more, with varying percentages (and the return on wager) for each million units in between.

So it looks like betting against the PlayBook could net you big bucks (if you're right), while optimists and RIM faithfuls won't see much gain. Considering it's already April, seven million units would be a success for the tablet, and with nearly a one in two chance of this happening, RIM will certainly be hoping Bookmaker has its odds correct.
