The Alberta Council of Technologies invites you to a thought-provoking look at the future of artificial intelligence with a conference called “Off-loading intelligence: When machines decide.”

The ominously-titled conference will explore technological advances that may arrive in the not-so-distant future, including autonomous transportation; man-less mines; smart homes and smart grids; and  remote surgery, sensing and surveillance. The spread of these thinking, decision-making machines will have profound effects on our society, and the problems, promises and opportunities that come with them will all be discussed.

As well, Alberta’s role and future with A.I. will be covered. Everything from the effects on specific industries to the changes in our daily lives is on the agenda for addresses at the conference.

There will be two events in this series, one in Calgary and one in Edmonton. The Calgary presentation will be held on November 1st in the MacDonald Hall at the South Alberta Institute of Technology from 8:00am to 4:30pm; the Edmonton one will be held at the Shaw Conference Centre on November 3rd from 1:00pm to 8:30pm.
