HTC looking to ban Apple's i family

In a move seen as a response to a suit filed by Apple against rival smartphone makehtcr, HTC, the maker of units using Google's Androind OS has filed it's own legal case against the iPad maker.

According to the Globe and Mail, HTC is accusing Apple of infringing five HTC patents.  They are also asking for a total ban on the importation and sale of Apple's mobile devices (iPad, iPhone, iPod, iTouch) in the United States.

Although we don't expect the ban to occur this is worth watching.

What are your thoughts?  Even if Apple comes out on top, will this force the popular brand to change some of it's product development strategies?
