Apple is both famous and infamous for its marketing tactics. Some say its pure genius and not harmful, while others say the company creates a distortion field and manipulates the minds of consumers, bending their will into believing that Apple is selling a lifestyle that everybody wants to live, and that in order to live this lifestyle, one most simultaneously own an iPod, iPhone, iPad, and iMac.

Whatever you call Apple's marketing prowess, call it effective too.

In the company's latest bid, Apple drops a new slogan in a couple of television ads for its popular smartphone, saying quite simply, "Yup, if you don't own an iPhone, well, you don't own an iPhone."

This is sure to cause a swell of pride for fanboys and infuriate Apple haters, as it's definitely a bold and obvious line that has Apple saying, "we make the best phone, and if you don't have it, then you don't have the best phone."

True or not, it's going to draw reactions, and Apple's marketing is once again effective.
