In battle of web traffic, tablets inch past smartphones according to tablet-web optimizer Pressly

Pressly, the Canadian tablet web optimizer, announced that tablet web traffic has indeed inched past smartphone web traffic according to October-released numbers at X-Summit's Canadian Interactive Showcase, or at least in the United States according to this Mashable article.
Pressly said that 70% of tablet users consumer news on the web browser versus apps. That means the Digital Newstand that Apple recently pushed out will probably not be as popular as expected as old habits tend to die hard.
Pressly said that Transcontinental Media, the Toronto Star, and The Economist are already on board with tablet web optimization. That's probably a good move as Pressly said anywhere from 6-20% of all traffic for news sites is coming from the tablet.
Techvibes' Knowlton Thomas also reported two months ago that iPads generate insanely disproportionate revenue compared to traffic.
Pressly further says they generate five times more interactive engagement than the non-optimized tablet web and increase CRMs by 2-3x with their varying layouts which even include a panorama advertisement by MasterCard.
