Calgary’s Social Media Rockstars to Converge at Inaugural Content Saloon in July

Calgary-based social media veterans are coming together this July for Content Saloon.

The inaugural Content Saloon takes place on July 9 from 3pm to 7pm at the Endeavor Arts Gallery in Calgary and will see a panel of experts participate in a no-bull chat on what it takes to build a great social media brand.

“The concept behind Content Saloon came from our desire to help to educate Calgarians not only about social media, but the nuances behind building a solid brand and presence on the various platforms that exist,” explains Arleigh Vasconcellos, co-organizer of Content Saloon and Principal at The Agency. “With our event we are aiming to educate people about the importance of the strategy behind how you talk to your audience on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, blogs, etc.”

According to her, the half-day program includes two panel discussions and featured celebrity speaker Kelly Oxford, who will be interviewed by Mike Morrison from Mike’s Bloggity Blog. The first panel showcases representatives from Calgary corporations Calgary Transit, Enbridge and YYC Food Trucks; the second panel features local Calgarians Calgaryism, Dan Clapson, and Mandy Stobo who have built a strong personal brand on social media, according to event organizers.

“Content Saloon is a casual way to learn about building a solid social media presence from some of the best there is in Calgary. It’s about bringing together a set of amazing social media stars, in an intimate setting, with great food and drinks. Kelly Oxford, our cherry on top, is what’s truly going to make this a great event,” says co-organizer David Wald,  the founder of Social Sesame.

Content Saloon is a part of Alberta Tech Week, the backbone of which is AccelerateAB on Thursday, July 11.
