InnovacorpInnovacorp, Nova Scotia’s technology commercialization agency, have recently announced two new competitions, aimed at kickstarting businesses through the use of large project funding rewards.  For start-up companies, there is the I-3 competition, while for the more environmental initiatives, there is also the CleanTech Open.

The I-3 Technology Start-Up Competition is open to all Nova-Scotian start-ups, described as any business raising less than $3 million since inception.  With awards of $100,000, the money can be used to bolster your company and push development.  The deadline for application is October 20th, and requires only a 3-5 page summary to enter.

The CleanTech Open is designed to locate and fund clean technology start-ups that show potential.  The competition deadline is December 1st, 2011, and submissions can be made at the CleanTech Open website.

The competitions are a great opportunity to secure investment if you have a start-up company.  For more information on the competitions, see I-3 competition or the CleanTech Open.
