Intrinsyc Joins Linux Foundation and LinuxCon hits Vancouver in August 2011

Earlier today the Linux Foundation announced that Vancouver’s Intrinsyc is their newest member.

Intrinsyc is joining The Linux Foundation to collaborate with the community on embedded Linux development, specifically around Android and MeeGo, for devices ranging from smartphones to industrial handhelds, portable gaming devices, e-readers, media tablets, and automobile infotainment.

While news like this from the nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the growth of Linux isn’t necessarily breaking news, the fact that they’re bringing LinuxCon to Vancouver this summer is big news.

LinuxCon is the industry’s premiere Linux conference. It’s North America’s annual technical conference that provides an unmatched collaboration and education space for all matters Linux. LinuxCon brings together the best and brightest that the Linux community has to offer, including core developers, administrators, end users, business executives and operations experts – the best technical talent and the decision makers and industry experts who are involved in the Linux community.

LinuxCon is from August 17th to 19th at the Hyatt Regency – register online now for early-bird rates.
