Techvibes is pleased to annouce that Varun Mathur is our new Community Manager in Toronto. Varun will be focused on covering local tech startups, news and events in the Toronto area.
Varun is a Co-founder and Product Manager at Zytran, a Toronto-based web startup which developed and launched Alertle.com - a personal news aggregator (Alertle's version 1.0 got widespread global coverage, with reviews written about it in various tech blogs and in over a dozen different languages; with version 2.0 slated for release in early '09). Varun has also worked at Merrill Lynch as a Technical Analyst and at another Toronto web startup called GTA Locator as a Project Leader.
Over the past several years, Varun has been an active volunteer with TiE Toronto, which is a local non-profit focused on promoting entrepreneurship in the region by organizing various events and an annual business plan contest called TiEQuest.
