iparks explorer appAs the weather's been improving here in Vancouver, people will be spending more time outdoors. Metro Vancouver's iParks Explorer app is a great start for finding parks to enjoy in the Lower Mainland.

The app features information and maps for the 22 regional parks in the Lower Mainland. Each park profile includes pictures, maps, information on activities and facilities, a calendar of events, and updates on park advisories and safety information.

The app is location-based, so you can view a map that will show parks relative to your location. It will also give walking, transit, and driving directions to help you find them.

In a media release last fall, Metro Vancouver announced that they were gathering feedback and assessing the effectiveness of the app. In the future, it would be nice if they were to work with local municipalities to include information on more than just the regional parks. The Lower Mainland features plenty of greenspace that's worth finding.
