Is Ottawa the cloud computing capital of Canada?

Posted by Techvibes NewsDesk

Cloud computing is been at the helm of a dramatic shift in the IT industry.

As the clouds begin to impact more and more businesses in more and more industries in more and more places around the world, Canada remains a cautious adopter of the technology.

But within Canada, Ottawa has claimed a stake in this sea change with the Ottawa Cloud Cluster. The Cluster is a collection of companies that have "an interest and commitment to developing a world-leading cloud computing community."

Become a member of the OCC grants you "access to a wealth of resources from relevant industry articles and news to events to a list of contacts and members within the Ottawa cloud computing community." In essence, its an association that offers networking, events, and news for members. Not an extraordinarily unique concept, but one fairly new to the cloud computing space.

Ottawa is determined to emerge as a global leader in this new technology. The OCC's mission is to "promote the development of Cloud Computing in Canada to accelerate business growth, technology adoption and commercial relationships."
