Canadian Pop Sensation Justin Bieber Reaches 30 Million Twitter Followers

Love him or hate him, Canadian popstar Justin Bieber is a social media king. Today he reached 30 million followers, becoming only the second person in the world to crack the milestone on Twitter.

How does one get 30 million followers on Twitter? Well, for the past six months, Justin has gained an average of 36,000 followers per day—that's a good start. And he's managed to do it with only 15 tweets a day.

Justin also has some of the most re-tweeted tweets of all time, with one exceeding 200,000 RTs. Even his most mundane, unsubstantial tweets usually collect up to 20,000 retweets and 10,000 favourites.

But the best stat of all: it's been estimated that Justin single-handedly accounts for 3% of all Twitter traffic.
